Experience

I love teaching and help my students achieve their goals. I completed a Master degree in Applied Linguistics to teach Spanish as a Foreign Language . I am a native Spanish speaker and fluent in English. I am a graduate of English Language (B.A) and I have a working knowledge and a good command of French (. I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) as confirmed by the Department of Education (DfE) in the United Kingdom. I have a lot of experience teaching online classes to both children and adults. I have been a Spanish tutor in the Fluency Corps company and I currently work as an internal moderator for the International Baccalaureate, developing my work as a teacher remotely . I am the owner and founder of the web www.spanishforlittleones.com and I feel really comfortable working online and using technology applied to education. I have experience of teaching Spanish and English in both primary and secondary in a British international school (700 on roll) in Spain that follows the UK National Curriculum. I have prepared students for public examinations, such as IGCSE and A level with excellent results. In class I do not just teach the language, because I personally believe that the teaching of a language also involves knowing the traditions and culture of the people that speak this language. It is for this reason that my teaching is eclectic and involves the students in their own learning process through various activities outside the traditional classroom. I have an open and dynamic personality. I have taught MFL from KS2 to 6th form. This has been a satisfying and challenge task, to create new activities adapted to maintain the interest of all students at the highest level; without intimidating less skilled Spanish speakers. I include in my classes a range of activities such as role plays, plays, projects that help students to develop their true potential. Also within the classroom, I develop activities that often occur in everyday life, so that students learn languages in a natural way. I can easily adapt my teaching to the level of the students and I create my own material to suit the needs of each group. I love working with students from different cultures and nationalities. As a teacher I firmly believe that it is important to teach mutual respect and to promote tolerance and diversity, so that in future our students will be highly placed individuals. Value education is our responsibility because their future is in our hands and we all deserve a better world. That’s why, in my classes I encourage the integration of all my students through different activities in which we learn about traditions, customs, food, etc. from several countries and at the same time, they are learning how to use a new language to express themselves in front of others. The fact of gathering pupils who are speakers of many different languages in a same group becomes an extremely useful asset in order to develop the concept of «linguistic immersion», students start communicating with each other: this is when learning has its real significance. An unknown language becomes useful for something practical and helps to remove barriers.
